Ohio's own Blind Swordsman

8/9/2012 6:25 pm - FreeSuper comments
News Via testyourmight.com! "With great honor, we have a very special interview to show to everyone. If any of you watched the Console Combat fighting game stream back on July 29th, chances are you know where this is going. We bared witness to our first ever "Blind" player to be playing Mortal Kombat. When Tim Static informed that this was about to happen on stream I jumped to my laptop and tuned in immediately and did my best to spread the word." Click this link to check out some of his matches and for the full interview with James and his brother Devontae. We really hope to see them every month. Especially when NetherRealm's Injustice arrives for consoles soon! It is amazing to have such a unique entrant taking part in an event most people would deem impossible for such a man!

Words with SNK

I just found that snk-capcom.com posted a pre-EVO 2012 interview with SNKP's Kei Yamamoto. The interview covers characters they wanted to add to KoF XIII, but couldn't. Those include Adeleid, Oswald and Malin! He talks about the notion of branching out into other game genres (including a new free-to-play Metal Slug game in the works), and a possible new crossover with Capcom or any other willing companies if there's enough demand. While most people want a Capcom vs SNK 3, I would go ballistic if an SNK vs Capcom 2 happens!

Now I'd really like to see a post-EVO interview with Mr. Yamamoto, especially after the ending ceremony for KoF!!

Takashi Nishiyama spent a not insignificant amount of his career basically creating SNK's fighting game repertoire, but this article on 1up also has a lot of classic Capcom information as well. There was a lot of information there that I was ashamed not to know. This has erased some of my shame for the day and I found this article absolutely fascinating!!
Nishiyama has been in this job for so long and has been so silent that this piece filled in a lot of missing pieces about the history of the fighting genre from both Capcom and SNK.

But (for me) every answer it provided created another question. For instance, Nishiyama notes that when SNK was bought out by UEC there were over 600 people in development alone. Mistranlation? What could SNK be doing at the time that needed 600 people? The NeoGeo Pocket?

Nishiyama also mentions future Dimps IP, I fancy the idea of an SNK vs Dimps in the future, whichever form it may take (no idea which genres they're going f...
